“Everyone its nicole and i m here with another diy this week. It s going going to be to make your own vickers your own mini markets and i m you some of the stuff that we re going to be using. So i have some felt from ben z. Design and some chipboard some thin chipboard.
The kind that you have with your pattern paper some cork. Some foam and this is just like dollar store foam that has already adhesive in the back and then i m going to be using some stamps and for the mini market. The kind and i ve had so many questions about that the kind of stamps that i m using is from paper tray ink and it s called type strips. And there s one in two and then you can buy the die.
Which i ll show you later. But dies. Only five dollars in the stamp is 22. And it makes perfect little mini market stickers.
But first we re gonna be using this die. This is a my favorite things die and i guess it would be to get the kind of the size of die that you would use the most i find a one inch die like the one inch letter is the best for me. So. I m gonna be using the first one with some foam.
This is some cork and then this is the chipboard like i said that comes from behind a pattern paper. So it s thicker than paper. But not as thick as chipboard. So then those little dies can cut them now my favourite patterned paper to use with you know to make alphabets.
Is 6×6 pattern papers. Because the pattern is smaller. And it ll fit better a you know inside of the letter. So my cuttlebug is quite old so you re gonna see me struggling a bit because i have to add some shims to it and i haven t used it in a while so i forgot that i had a metal shim.
So it s gonna you can use some pattern paper or some cardstock. If you you don t have the metal shim. But the metal shim really works really well and another thing. We re gonna do is use cardstock and then you use some liquid glue and it s the aqua glue.
And i m gonna be showing it a little later and if you want to make it look like vickers that s the best glue for that and you keep putting it on top and on top and then at the end your letter. Feels like a thicker like it feels like chipboard and so i really like that now these little alphas here they re from dynamics. I think really super cute. But you re gonna see me struggling with it it doesn t cut that great i read i didn t know if there was supposed to be some foam on there or what the case was but i really had a hard time for for it to cut.
So i m gonna go get some paper. I don t think i ever put my metal shim with that next time i m going to try my metal shim so i get you know a letter or two to come off i probably should have used my metal shim what happens is after a while the rollers on your cuttlebug kind of separates so it s not as tight as it as it rolls. So you need to add more and more shim and my cuttlebug. I ve had it for a long time i could probably just put it on my big boss or i have a teresa collins.
One too so i ll probably try one of those too next time to see if it works a little better. But they re super cute they re just about half. An inch quarter of an inch half. An inch tall.
So just a perfect little size of letters that you can use you know for smaller titles. My cuttlebug is making my mat totally go walkie and move all over the place. But i just love tiny alphas like that and at one point. You re gonna see me bring out my stamp set from paper tray ink and i really really like that.
And i really because you can stamp it and then you cut it and then you use a die cut machine to cut it out so i got the i to come out here and the cue and a few other letters. But i m gonna use some ranger enamel and i m gonna put it right on top of the letter and then i ve just made my own enamel letter and then you can just put it on a nonstick sheet. I just left it on the cardstock and once it was dried. I just picked it up so the next thing.
I m gonna be doing is those mini market alphas and like i said those stamp sets are from paper tree ink. They re called type strips there s one in two and so i m showing you there what they look like and so there s while the last time when i bought these there was two different kinds. There was the first type here where i cut down two inch strip. And then i stamped it out first and then i remembered oh.
No this is not the ones that because when you try to put the dye overtop. It s really hard to tell where it sits so this one here. It s better to stamp it out and then or to cut it out to die cut it out and then to stamp over top because it s some clear stamps. So you can kind of gauge it a little better and then the next one which i m just gonna do at the end of the video.
It kind of does the full letter that you color it in and that one there it s better to stamp it out first and then the die you can tell where it s gonna sit so one of them i find it s better if you die cut first then stamp and i don t know if they fix those dies. Yet that they put little holes that you can push it out. But when i bought mine they didn t have that so this is where i realized yeah. That s right this one here.
I had to cut it out first and then stamp. It and then the other one you need to stamp. It first and then put your dye over top you can because it s full the stamp set you can tell where it s going to sit. So i don t know why i didn t do the other one right away.
I was kind of jumping all over the place. But i wanted to move on to the next thing. So this is where i m going to grab the tombow mono aqua glue. And it s just a clear glue.
But i find that once it dries. It makes the cardstock just feel like it s it s a thicker and or thicker x. . And so i really like that.
And if you put three or four layers of let s say the same a then it s nice and thick and it once you put it down on your page. It s going to look like it was a thicker that you just made yourself so i m showing you the glue that i use there. So the cork you don t have to do much to it i mean you could stamp on it in white. If you wanted to with some not just regular ink.
But with a not a dye ink with the stays on that s the word. I was looking for and it comes in black and white and several other colors and then it would stamp on the cork and it wouldn t kind of smoosh around so up to now i ve done the cardstock or the in the chipboard and the cork and some foam and the foam will make it look like the foam. Pickers and pattern paper. And now i m doing felt.
And felt like i said you can the felt i m using right now is from paper tree ink and i finally realized oh yeah. I have a metal shim how about if you use it so i went to get my metal shim and it works so much better and so then i did the felt and now. I thought it d be fun. If i stamped on some cardstock and then use that to cut out so i m gonna stamp these are paper tray ink stamps again and it s just sort of like back ish stamp sets and i m going to add some ink in the navy.
Blue. And it s the hero arts ink and i m going to stamp it on the card stock and then i ll use one of the letters and i ll just cut it out using my die cut machine again and i mean i m doing one at a time. But if you know if i were if i was to do it sort of you know if i want to make a whole bunch and batch making i would do a whole bunch of a using all kinds of mediums so on the same time that i would use my cuttlebug. I would put like abcd you know i would do a whole bunch of letters in the same color and then i would move on or if you know you want to make a title and you don t want that to be just sitting in your scrap room waiting to be used and you don t know which color.
It s it doesn t take long at all to make some of these you can just take out your office. That you need you know stamp out what you need and then cut it out or go get your foam and cut out your letters or your cork or your felt. It s not something that takes a long time. And i have my cuttlebug set up on my on one of my desks.
So i can just instead of i wouldn t bring it to me like i did to do this video. I would actually walk to it and cut out the title that i need now to make some enamel alfa s. I m gonna take this liquid glass and that s from close to my heart. And this is clear and i m going to put over the stamped image and it s going to make it another type of enamel.
So the first one i use some rangers enamel in a specific color. Now this one. I stamped. It first and then i added the the crystal liquid glass and then that way you know if you have stamps and inks.
Then you don t need to get other different rangers enamel. Then i thought hey i didn t make any of those little alphas and in the meantime. My this is a stamping block from martha stewart and it has little feet on it so you can put your stamp set kind of align. It and it doesn t touch anything and then you push it down i got that on amazon.
I showed you the package. There s two different sizes. There s a large and a small and i believe that s or i think i got the the medium and the small and i think that s the medium. I m not sure because i didn t get the other one yet and i used some purple ink.
So that you could see it and as you saw i got two of those dyes to cut out the alphas that way. I was able to make a whole bunch all at once and with one passing of my cuttlebug. I was able to make a whole bunch and then i especially you hear how many i ve made so i m gonna start using those on my layouts for sure. Because i ll never run out of a s and e s again with those and as you saw on one stamp set.
I just stamped one out. But there s uppercase lowercase and then a different font and here i m showing you close ups. All the different alphas. The chipboard.
The foam the felt the the cork and then the stamped and also the the stamp sets from paper tray ink making my own mini markets and that s it that s gonna complete this diy. And i thank you so much for watching bye. ” ..
